Default MAF

What would be the next step up from the SCT BA-2800 90mm MAF Meter.
This for is not for the the yellow stang. Looking into a built procharged stang and will be needing one. The one on there is either not big enough or it is just bad.

I've dealt with this problem with a 96 cobra with a D-1 procharger. The 2800 is plenty big enough, you just have to get an anderson power pipe and the kit to relocate your maf in front of the blower instead of behind it. Procharger still uses the blow through method instead of the suck through. My friend with the cobra has the 2400 sct maf and while it was still set up as a blow through it maxed the maf at 4300 rpms at just 400 hp. By moving it in front of the blower where it sucks air through instead of blows it through it the 2400 is capable of handling over 600 rwhp. The 2800 should handle 800-900 hp set up like this. As a blow through, probably about 500. I think the 2800 is the biggest one sct makes.

thank you. The car is tuned on 16-17 # pulley and is 550rwhp through an auto.

another question. would a maf causing it to idle ruff. Since it was running ruff he has swaped the cops for new ones, checked for leaks anywhere he could think of, and put a new IAC on it. plugs where checked and are fine, even was replaced

Might only be the tune, since they was at a dyno when it started this. It died, started it back up and it idling ruff. It was idling fine, but was getting lean up top before taking it in the dyno for the maf. the got a MAFia and ajusted the fuel and that when this started

the car is beyond what I know so any advise is appreciated

The Mafia is the problem it screws all the computer settings up. My car has been running like crap with that product on it. I had to uninstall the Mafia and get it retuned AGAIN. Now my car does excatly what you described. The MAFIA product sucks. Just an FYI.

The mafia tricks the computer. Once the maf maxes the mafia takes over and uses a pre set program to tell the computer how much air is flowing through it. It doesn't actually give the computer an accurate reading. On a car with that much power I would do away with the mafia and put the maf in front of the blower. Also with the blow through design it makes it really hard to tune because the maf curve is all whacked up due to the turbulant air from the blower. The air going into the blower flows very smooth making much easier to tune.

No, I'm still having issues with it. It runs really rich sometimes and other times it not getting enough fuel pressure. My check engine light will not go off anymore. Eventhough it's not giving out any codes. When I reset the computer, fifteen minutes later the light comes back on. This all happened after the Mafia install. Yes it has been Dyno tuned. I just ordered a new computer this week.
