Intake manifold

Unfortunately I cracked the intake where the thermo housing bolts on. I'm getting alot of different info from the local ford dealers on what i need.

Most of the intakes I find say...
* Can be used on 1996-98 engines with Performance Improvement (PI) heads
* Additional modifications and parts required

I have a stock 96 gt conv 4.6 sohc vin X
I would guess I don't have (PI) heads ?

If someone has a link or any info, Pics, on how to "Properly" remove/install the new intake on a Stock 96 gt 4.6 sohc and what xtra parts, ( tools ) will be needed
.
It would be greatly appreciated.

One last thing ..
I see some people talking about jb weld as a temp Band-Aid. I need to get the car home 260 miles away.
Will jb weld hold up that long? It says not to use on intakes?

Your car is a npi car. To put the PI intake on, you'll need these adapter plates. The npi have intake ports shaped differently than the pi cars. Here's a link to the whole package. http://www.livernoismotorsports.com/product.phtml?p=457

You do not have PI heads. I wouldnt recomend JB weld. The swap is fairly easy it just takes almost 3 hrs. A socket set and screwdrivers may be all you need. Ive had to do the pi intake so its hard to say.

You do not need adapter plates.. You can be just fine using rtv...

Thanks for the link... And the info about J.B weld...

Its going to the shop. My guy agrees w/you in I dont need xtra parts.
When i find this to be true if true.i would love to knowwhy people post if they dont know whatthey are talking about?
If you dont know the answer simply dont post.
