I had that same clicking noise problem and it turned out to be the front u-joint. Change your u-joints and I bet that'd take care of it for you...hope all works out well.

My '96GT has almost 82,000 miles on it now, and haven't had a lick of trouble from it, aside from the obvious. Biggest repair done was a new clutch, but it was due, otherwise nothing major. Makes me wonder how long I can keep this streak up, haha.
