Default Does Your DashBoard Rattle?? I found a quick fix.

well, in most mustangs the dashboard rattles. mostly it is the plastic trim panel that goes from the vents down to the switches. that was the case in my car. pretty much it would always rattle. so i took some 1/2 inch think soft black weather stripping. cut it really skinny, about a 1/8 of an inch. and stuck it to the back of the plastic trim panel, there is a very nice flat part that is perfect to fit the weather stripping. it goes all the way around the back of the panel. you will need about 2 - 3 feet of it, to go around. walla NO rattles, solid as rock. i used thick and soft weather stripping so it would conform to the shape really good, and feel solid.

you can pretty much do this to any plastic part that rattles or squeeks in the car.

stuff needed:
-sharp blade
-and 1/2 inch thick soft black weather stripping.

here are some pics after the install, you cant even see the weather stripping.

did you put the weather stripping behind the plastic pieces or in between the cracks?

behind it, there is a nice flat part behind the trim panel that is about an 1/8 of an inch think. so i cut the weather stripping to fit. and stuck it on.

sorry no pics, this was a very spur of the molment thing.

if you pop the panel off, you will know what i am talking about. really easy to do.

ive been dealing with it for awhile. i used to hit the dash with my fist to get rid of it. it would work for all of 3 seconds then come back. i felt like the guy in the commercial on TV where he punches his dash to get the radio to work and his wheels fall off.

^^^^and yes, thoes are the RPMs that i used to get it.
