Default Which mustangs had Romeo/Winsor engines?

Is there a method to this madness??? Does anybody know what mustangs came with which engine? Are things like cylinder heads and intakes interchangable between the 2?

I dunno...I have a 97 cobra that says in capital letters on the SVT 'badge' on the passengers side valve cover "ROMEO." That would lead the average bear to believe that I have a Romeo engine. However, in other posts I've read on here, people claim that all 97s have winsor motors, so I dont really know.

Your car was not made at windsor, they are and engine plant, mustangs are assembled at dearborn michigan. The early modular V8's were built in windsor, but the mustang's were built in romeo until 99 when they switched to the windsor plant until 01 when they switched back to romeo. Just look up the modular engine on wikipedia.org.

Here ya go buddy.....[:-] http://www.babcox.com/editorial/ar/eb40228.htm

Just check your valve covers... If they have 11 bolts, bolting them down you have a Romea block... If you have 13 bolts you have a windsor... Also some windsors have a w stamped in the valley between the cylinders. I believe bullits have windsors... but dont qoute me.
