Default New to the 4.6..have questions

Hey guys i've been on this site for a while but i've been in the 5.0 section.... I'm looking to get a 4.6 after i sell my 89lx ( anyone interested? lol ) My choice would be 1996-1998 gt or cobra.. What are the advantages of the 4.6 over the 5.0?? I know that the 96-98 gt's are slower then the 5.0's but you don't say many 96-98 gt's modded... Its usually always the 5.0's with the most upgrades

Dont waste your time on a 96-98 GT if you want to mod it. You'll end up spending another 2 - 3k (unless you go with spray or boost as the first mod) just to run as fast as a 99+ GT or the 96-98 cobra.
I loved my 97 cobra.. it was a blast to drive and had good top end..

5.0? Whats the big deal. I beat one in my old 3.8 Mustang. But back to the subject. Before you make up your mind completely on a 96-98, check out some 99+. You can get some really good deals and might even score one thats supercharged. The 99-04 4.6 blow those 5.0s away man. Its all about technology now. I have a 02 GT And I raced a 98 Cobra the other day from a 2nd gear pull. Smoked his ***. Look around before you make up your mind.

Well... i like the 96-86 styles more.. hoping i could find 1 modded for like under 7K... I'm 18 so i could forget about a cobra just because the insurance will be over 5k a year..
