Default TREMEC 3650 Temps

Does anybody know if the 3650 has to be at a certain temp to function properly? I've seen on this forums somewhere that someones got so hot it wouldn't go into gear. Is this a common problem?

well, I dont think there is anything specific about it, but all i know is that the 3650 and 45 alike are not very reliable trannies in general. Its even hard for my t45 to get in first gear or reverse when its cold or even just warm. They are very similar, i know I dont have a 3650, but that info may help ya. I dont think it has to be a certain temp. They just kinda suck sometimes.

Well the reason I'm asking is because I was wondering if some type of trans cooler (like used for automatics) would benefit this? I figure since it's using regular tranny oil that it might help it, just don't want to take a step back with it.

i think this is impossible as there is no pressure in a manual to do this, i believe it is like the rear ends and the fluid just sits there and the gears spin it all over., or youd have to buy some sort of pump.. just put the best oil in it, they run 'burn your hands hot' and thats normal
