Default gt to the shop

hey guys we took my sons 02 gt in and they said it was running too cool the hotest it got was 180 and he said it shoud be 195 or so ans they said also it had some mis fires on cyc #6 and #8 could that be because of flooding ?? so we are changing the stat and chagneing the plugs ,, anyone got anything to add ????

we change the plugs and the stat wecouldn't tell any differance,,,,,, does anyone have a shop manual for a 02 gt ???? we have a owners manual

and you can buy a haynes manuel at any parts store.

they are around $20.00

well we check them out as we removed them and didn't see anything that was different we was looking for whits spots on the side on boot

Easiest way to check them in my opinion is if it's misfiring, that means the engine is shaking. Unplug the wire on the coils #6 and #8, if the engine doesn't began to shake anymore than normal, then your coils are fine.

That was my ghetto method of checking them, and it worked for all three of my coils that went bad

it said we had 180 misfires on #8 and 80 on #6 so i looked they are both on the drivers side ,,, and that was at a idel
