Default Who has an upgraded clutch?

My clutch is worn out, was thinking about upgrading.
The trans shop said that they could fit a stock clutch with a warranty or they could supply and installsome AC Performance (Import tuner brand aparently!?) clutch in either stage 1 (350hp) or stage 2 (650hp)

Have you ever heard or this brand?

What Clutch would you recomend or will a stock clutch work ok with basic bolt ons?

ohh and if i upgrade to a stronger clutch will i need to upgrade anything else?

A stronger clutch will enable you to have better launchs and shifts resulting in quicker times but I would strongly recomend sticking with names that are known and dont rely on mechanics, they are just trying to sell you what they can make the most money off of.

I have used Spec and Ram clutchs and liked them both, I liked the Spec Stage III the best but had a problem with the pressure plate being warped and then no customer service.

Some known brands that seem to be good are

*Spec
*Ram
*Ford Performance parts of course
*Luk is the stock brand
*McLoud (sp?)

just to name a couple, other people have their idea's too and its best to do a lot of reading and asking a lot of questions about these things, its also really good to talk to whoever you decide to go with about what you will need for what mods you have and what future mods you want to do, they can set you up nicly.

Best of luck.

Thanks Eric. They suggested the Luk, that was the stock clutch that they want to fit.
They said that if i bought a clutch then they would fit it but obviously they couldn't warranty it.

What is the max sensible power for a stock clutch?

Do you Know anything about Ford Performance King Cobra clutches?

Ive heard nothing but good about the kind cobra. If you're just replacing the stock unit with something a bit better the king cobra is your best bet. It should come with the throw out bearing, you should probably replace the pilot bearing too (like another 25 bucks).
