Yeah I just mistyped. Your going to need lots of stuff... it can be done, and its not THAT hard, but its alot of work and you will basically need a wrecked donor car.

Your gonna need at least the trans, clutch, interior parts, shifter, linkage, and I am thinking you will need the bellhousing, flywheel, and driveshaft from a stick car.

On top of that, there are probably at least a few small little parts you will need.

I think you really should consider just spending some bucks on a gearswap (4.10 ftw on a n/a car) and a Xcal2. I bet you will be so impressed with how much better the car feels you will forget all about doing a tranny swap.

Put it this way, you should be straight beating on stock 5 speed cars at that point. Then after you get done beating on them you can laugh at them and tell them they just got beat by a stock auto car with a midpipe and catback

Ya i think that would be the better route to go. But two questions. Will the Xcal2 make my shifts as strong as an actual shift kit? And about the gears i plan on getting them. Also when i get the Xcal2 or shift kit do i need to get a tranny cooler? If so how much will one of those run me? Thanks for all your help 2000GT

ORIGINAL: Adam03GT

Well after countless posts about which rims/tires to buy and how to tweak my exhaust setup.... I think i have finally came to a decision! I love my car inside and out..its immaculate. BUUT! Its an automatic and i cannot stand it anymore! I miss my standard sooooo bad. I find myself dropping it at ever stoplight and shifting and blah blah and driving an auto is just no fun.... Soo i am trying to trade my 03 GT with mach 1000, 40050miles for a standard... I am currently looking at a black 02 with 19k miles on it and ill keep you guys updated! Anyways... I was wondering how you guys felt about your automatic? Do you despise them as much as me?
wait a minute.....I GOT A 5-speed.....with your name on it
