As with any color you have to stay away from the vehicles in front of you.No matter what kind of car it is it will throw things into the air in front of you.No matter how small the debris is,it will scratch the paint. One thing you will find out is the fewer scratches you have, the faster they will accumulate.
If you want to keep the original paint as near perfect as possible the clear bra would be the way I would go.Fixing the paint would entail going to a custom paint shop and having a pro fix all the dings and have it re-cleared with a high quality aftermarket paint. The paint on our cars is good but there are better out there. After all,the paint supplier was chosen by which company was the lowest bidder.

If the scratches aren't in the paint you can use a polish/swirl remover to fix them. Can you feel the scratches when you rub your fingernail over them?

I put at least 2 coats of meguiar's wax on my car every other week (after every wash). That's probably the best defense you can get vs. dirt and other debris on the road. ...or you can get some 3M clear vinyl bumper cover. Then all you have to do is change out the vinyl every now and again.

Black is sexy..... nuff said...... but sexy requires attention..... and attention to detail is required when buffing and waxing a BLACK car.

I know for small little nics, (key word small) I use a black sharpie to just touch it a little, it washes out after a while and has to be reapplyed, but it blends in surprisingly well. Just give it a try before you guys make fun of this. But remember this is for little nics, on say the front bumper or somthing.
