Default Brakes tech help

I just got my new rotors and pads today and I want to do the install myself. Does anyone have a detailed (pics if possible) instructions on how to remove my old rotors and pads and install my new ones??? Man these things are CRAZY HEAVY. 76 lbs for all four but they look AWSOME cant wait to get them on.

Thanks in advance

PS

I don't have access to a lift so I will be doing this with a jack and hopefully jack stands.

No pictures...but there are 2 bolts that hold the caliper onto the rotor. They are 12mm bolts.Once you've got them off.Pull the centre out. Then you'll have to remove the caliper mounting bracket from the spindle. That you'll need a 17mm(I think) wrench. Those are on there really tight.Probably have lock-tite on them from the factory. If you have the lock washers on your studs, they will have to come off too.A small chisel will be needed to split them(or flat screwdriver)Once those are off,you should be able to pull the rotor off.Make sure to clean the rotors off with brake cleaner to get any oils or film off them.A little scuff with sandpaper will help too. Before re-installing these components, you may have to compress the piston(s) from the caliper to get them over the new rotor and pads.Put ot back togeather in reverse sequence. You shouldn't have any trouble.Just do one side at atime(for reference) The back is done the same as the front.Make sure to break in your new brakes properly, and away you go.Be safe, and use jackstands...

+1, I think you pretty much covered it, I just did mine last weekend.

I don't remeber the 17mm caliper mounting bolt though, I thought it was just the 2 holding the caliper on? I did a crapton of installing that weekend though, so I might have just forgot it.

I'm certain of the caliper mounts on the spindle.I had to use a 3 foot prybar just tocrack them loose.

One other thing on the install, this is a great time to go ahead and bleed the brakes. It might not need it, or it might need it, but it can't hurt anything, and it can only improve braking.
