Default Is there something better out there?

Brenspeed C&L Intake and SCT X-Cal 2 combo for $659.00. This set up with Macmufflers was rated to deliver 12.80 @ 105mph in the quartermile on street tires. Is there another similar set up out there for a comparable price? My goal is to get th most out of my Mustang one mod at a time. I don't care about looks, just power.

It's advertised on their Brenspeed's website when looking at the ordering info.

I emailed Brenspeed asking what the projected hp gain is. Even if it doesn't deliver the 12.8 quarter mile it seems to be the best option I've found so far. But if anyone know of anything different I'd like to check it out. I'm going to buy this early next month.

Chip + Intake on a 3v is a great mod.. the 3v's react so much better to any mods so you will definantly see some big improvement. if i were you id post this in the 05-07 section im sure they can help you better...

Definantly look into getting gears there just amazing

Default RE: Is there something better out there?

I got a response to my email from Dave at Brenspeed this morning.

"The C&L is our most popular intake. All of our packages perform the same. You should base your decision on price and cosmetics. The typical expectation should be 15-20hp on a reg. octane tune and 20-28hp with a premium octane tune. The mufflers are not going to give you any power; we do the mufflers for a sound upgrade only. I would suggest a set of under drive pulleys, and gears for your next mod. Is your car a manual or automatic? After that a set of ET streets should get you into the 12s. There is an entire article on the website on how we went 12s the first time. When you optimize that combo I would recommend a 100hp shot of nitrous to get you into the 11s.'

Gears and pulleys are definitely something I'm working towards next.
