Default Motive vs FRRP

does anyone have motive 4.10s installed? im looking to get out of these 3.27s now that im back in the city. i was looking on americanmuscle.com and motive gears are a heck of a lot cheaper than frrp. are these known to whine? suggestions?

People say that they whine, but it is all in the installaton.

They are a bit more likely to whine than the ford ones, but as the person above me said, as long as they are installed fine you wont hear them at all.

It's all in the installation. I have heard, however, that the Motive gears are a bit harder to install correctly than the Ford gears are. Who knows if that is true though.

I read somewhere, I believe it was here, that Motive used to supplyFRPP with there gears.

Ya. The shop that quoted me for gears told me that he has gotten FRPP sealed boxes with Motives in them. I don't know if it is true but he said it.

It isn't necessarily the installation that causes gear whine. How the gear is cut will also cause whine. Higher strength gears are generally a little noisier than lower strength gears. Heck, Richmonds will whine no matter how they are installed...small price to pay for gears that won't shatter.

So whine doesnt mean thats theres actually something wrong? I was told by my instructor that they whine when theres a problem or installed incorrectly.
