it's not a dealership thing, some companies have ford programs like the one I work for (dollar rent a car) we can make an order for a car from ford, (only regular ford cars and not the svt's) tell them what we want on it, like upgraded sound system, rear end gearing, wheels, color, anything. they receive the order, manufacture the car based on those orders, and as an employee of my company I get a prettty big discount off msrp=P

Your intake is most likely just the updated version of the stock intake...no power gain just structural. I used to get 26-27mpg on my trips from NJ to Fl with 3.73,auto but with headers/x-pipe/catback and a few other small intake upgrades that improved airflow...i don't get that anymore...
