+1 on that! I had the correct tool and still couldn't do it (lost patience)! Will try again when I do a shifter change...

I guess what I didn't realize at the time is that the tool (or coat hanger) is pushed into onlyrelease/detach the radio on the sides, which then allows the radio to slide forward. So you then have to grab somewhere else on the radio to pull it out, but there's little else to grab onto and the friction from the tool itself doesn't help... But I will try the "wiggling" method, as statedabove.

just get the tool or whatever and then yank that thing out..... and also get the compartment from somewhere from a 6cyl so you dont just have a useless cd player there

get the dang tools. slide the keys in and push them away from eachother, and while doing that pull on the tools, it will slip right out.
