Very confused LOWERING
So i had planned on getting the Eibach pro kit, cc plates and some shocks/struts. Everyone on here seems so sure that cc plates and shocks/struts are absolutely required with this kind of drop.... But today when i was talking to my freinds they were very confused at why i was going to buy anything but the springs? 3 guys.. 1 is a 99 GT, 1 a 01 Gt and 1 a 02 GT. They all have a 1.5-2" drop and didnt get cc plates or shocks struts and have been fine for 10 months strong.... So im confused now.. Is it just that you guys recomend these things? Or is my experience just unique?

Most will tell youto go ahead and replace your shocks/struts because you are going to have to do it sooner or later. I didn't and haven't had any problems with mine. My springs have been on for about a year and a half.

Well just do not complain when you look at your tires and the inside of them are bald and showing cord and the rest of the tire being ok. Trust me i know. Its more to be on the safe side. Besides the way i look at it is that if you want something done, do it right the first time so you don't have to worry about fixing the mother.... well u get the point!

you don't have to, but you gotta take the same stuff apart for s/s and you do for springs, so it'll save you time and effort.
cc plates, you must use if you drop past a certain "unknown exactly" point where the geometry of your front suspension is so out of whack that it can't be put back to alignment without the cc plate's help.

i have the pro-kit...on my V6 it actually lowered it about 1.6-1.7" and i did NOT need CC plates...had it aligned right after and it was fine...again every car is different though...i decided to take the chance...i did the KYB AGXs too because i didn't feel like paying TWO installation charges to have the shocks/struts put in later...if you are doing the install just get the springs for now....i would go H&R Sports though...JMO

Hm i was also wondering about this... If i plan on getting Longtubes down the road would it just be better to go with a 1" drop? I live in oklahama so there are alot of bad roads... Then i guess i wouldnt need cc or shocks/struts at all would i?

In the same boat here. Been lookin at some prices, think I might go with H&R super sports ($239 from cardomain.com), Strange 10 way adjustable shocks/struts 2x$69.50 and 2x$119.50, MM C/C paltes think was about $190 = $810 more or less. Ouch kinda steep. And then I need alignment after.
