Default Exhaust Cut Out

So i was wondering if i could get an exhaust cut out on my 99 GT. i just bought magnaflow magnapack w/ magnaflow off/road x pipe....can i get a cut out and if so where to get it and how much ...thanks!

Sorry bro you seem to have an idea of what they are...... What exactly is an exhaust cutout and what are they good for? Im just curious.

Remember the commercial on TV? They have IT on EBAY. But you would need to find a 2.5in instead of a 3in.

It just dumps the exhaust right after the header. You have a switch so you can turn it off and back on.

Its going to be ungodly loud and annoying when on, but it is supposed to pick up power because of no restriction in the exhaust. I am sceptical you would make any real power since you are bypassing the midpipe where scavanging is supposed to take effect.

On the LS1 cars (the only place I have seen them used extensively) they work to make the exhaust an open header system for drag racing. Works best on long tubes. It connects right between the midpipe and headers. Essentially it is a little door that directs the exhaust flow either through the rest of the exhaust system for street use or out the headers for drag use.
