I believe that stock is 65mm. And yes, you can put a new tb/plenum on before you do headers. Im putting on a BBK 75mm tb/plenum in the next week w/ my stock headers.

It'll give you better throttle reponse (noticable) and a few more ponies (not as noticable)

its more of a supporting mod to others. your stang will really wake up if you get the 75mm TB and a upper plenium, along with a Cold air intake and a good catback. oh and dont forget GEARS! (i threw that one in there for pretty much everyone on the forum lol)

Sad to say it, but on a bolton only car you will be lucky to see around 10-12 WHP with everything from the filter to the plenum.

Your talking about a 2~ WHP gain (if that ) on a basically stock car going from a 65mm to a 75mm.I also did not notice any "throttle response" difference. I think people are just excited to get a new mod and want there to be a difference.

do the headers first, unless they are not going to be long tubes.

I have an 04 too. I've noticed that you can't get any info on them. Chilton or Haynes don't have a book on them. At least I couldn't find any at the autopart shops around me, and yes that includes Pepboys and Autozone.
Anyway I am going for the gusto, I don't want any of these little MODS done e.g.intake spacers will add 9hp, cold air kits another 9hp, don't believe the hype, they just want you to spend money. Going to save up all my pennies for a supercharger, then the exhaust (if that doesn't go first...lol), thenoverhaul my 4W70R trannyand adda shift kit to it.

even with FI, a throttle body + plenum doesn't give you jack. i picked up 6RWHP 10RWTQ (got 8RWHP with the MAC i had on but went with accufab for looks). the shop wanted to take the pepsi challenge with the supposed "best gains" with the accufab. so i got it at cost and we had a before and after with both.
