swaping pumpkin and gears???

swaping pumpkin and gears???
I was wondering if i can take the pumpkin and gears out of a f-150, or explorer and swap it into my 96gt...its a 8.8 with 3.73 gears ford track lock posi 31 spline axles??? answer would be great....

im not sure...found it online...and i was told if i install my 4.10s into my car its not going to help...did a burn out last week and only one tire spun...got stock 17" rims and some nitto drag radials on it...so i was told i dont have a posi or a limited slip rear end... so 4.10s wouldnt matter much...to change out my pumpkin for a posi...so i looked online and found a 8.8 with 3.73 31spline pumpkin...from a f150 or explorer....

Well I did a little looking on the web and it seems they are 8.8 and 31 spline but I would defenitely check that housing width and bolt pattern on the axlesmay also be an issue hope that helps.

Yes, they'll fit as long as it came out of an 8.8. Now the axels my not be the right length, but the carrier will bolt up in your rear end. And you have a trac loc rear, but its fugged up or something.
