someone told me that if you put a 2.5 inch exhaust.. instead of the stock 2.2ish.. you can add like 20 hp.. is that true or is it just a waste of money?.. plus i hear that flowmaster robs you of your hp?

Hahaha man I wish.. No just a cat-back will add about 3-4rwhp. And I wouldnt think flows would rob horsepower at all.

if you do a whole system LTheaders, midpipe, catback etc you will most likely see 20 rwhp but a catback will only be good for 8-10rwhp and all systems give you generically the same, its the sound you want to go for, flowmasters are known for rusting out from the inside after a while..its all up to what you want and like...I run the slp lm1 with the catted mid I get good sound, not raspy and its ss so it will last forever.....just my .02

Let's think logically here...you are changing your exhaust from 2.25" to 2.5"...that's a 1/4" bigger throughout your entire exhaust, which decreases restriction immensely...you are definitely making a significant difference. Horsepower numbers aside, you're def gaining power, at least at higher rpm's. It is a worthy mod.

So if the question is asked "Is it worth it?" The answer is, yes.

i am not sure, but i think if you are getting better throttle response/revs better, that would be considered hp/torque gains??????

from the filter and the catback i bet i gained MAYBE 5 hp. it reves a little better im guessing because it can breath better, not because it gave me power. but i could be wrong
