New to Mustang world 4.6L Part 3 (GEARS)
Hi all,
Thank you all for the edjucation in superchargers yesterday
The SC will have to wait. I found out on 2 sites that my gear ratio is 2.49, because it's an automatic. That needs to be changed. I want it @ 3.55 and not 4.10
Does anyone here have advise on what type and what brands and how do I know if it's an 8" or 8.8", etc...?
Please help.

2.49 gear ratio?Not the rear I hope....never heard of that one...should be 3.+ 3.27 is theusual...but auto ,not sure..Anything less than a 3.73 in the rear(auto or stick)is a waste of money and time....IMO...I've got 4.10's and a S/C and I think it just right..and yes I drive it on the highway..went to lexington awhile back...100 miles 1 way....no prob whatso ever....Yes its a 8.8.....motive gears or the frpp seem to be popular,,(frpp)people saythey are easier to setup...

Look at the tags on the rear diff cover.That will give you your gear ratio.What supercharger have you decided on ? Because I'll tell you which one NOT to use !
