Well I dont have nittos but I run 16 to 18 psi in mine. It would be safe for you to run the same if not just a little more.

I run 15#, keep getting better 60's the lower I go but Im not comfortable going lower on a radial tire. I also run 245/45's so if your running 40's you probably wanna run a couple #'s higher. I'd start at 18# and get a few good launches in, the go down a couple and see if your short times get better. If they get worse or stay the same then stay at 18#

Check your owners manual, set it to that on your first run. if you feel your tires breaking loose on launch, let 1 or 2 psi out, run again, repeat until you can launch minimal or no spin at all.

uuhh... the owners manual doesnt really specify what pressure to start out at when drag racing. LOL Like me and MD said... start out at 18psi and work it from there. I wouldnt go below 15 though... might break the seal and that would be ugly.

I went all the way down to 12 PSI on a cool nite, cut a 60 foot below 1.80 went to the finals on BFGs, nearly bald. I got pictures from a track photographer and they actually wrinkled like slicks!

No, but the manual will say what is the optimum tire pressure for good traction and gas mileage, of course yes he's on drag radials, but keeping any tire inflated at the factory optimum psi is definitely a good place to start.
