Default hood latch

As we all know some of the hoods on the 99-04 are hard too close. We tried to adjust any and everything. I read all the forums, took the latch completely off. There are two pins, but no adjustment can be made to move the latch up as confirmed by the dealer. (99 gt) He could not tell me for certain that installing a new latch would fix the problem. Has anyone installed a new hood latch and if so did it fix the problem? Thanks!

Open the hood, and set the latch as even as you can with the yellow handle parallel with the hood, then drop your hood., do not do it slowly, you gotta drop it hard., and don't worry it will be fine.

I have similar problems and more.

The passenger side of the hood on my car vibrates when driving and if you pull up on it there is a little play unlike the drivers side where it
is difficult to even budge.
Also, if you run your fingers from the fender over the space and onto the hood, the passenger side rides a wee bit higher than the drivers side.

I have played with the latch, the bumpers, the hinges and so forth till I am blue in the face and can't seem to make this thing fit right.

What I can't understand is, if the only *grab point* is in the middle of the hood, why would one side feel tighter than the other?
Some hoods have latches on the ends and if this were the case I could understand, but it's not.

Anyone?
