X-pipe Install, Remove parts?
I know mid pipe installs are reposted all the time and i read a couple but none of them say anything about removing parts. Tonight i lifted the car and sprayed the bolts with a penetrating rust remover/loosener. I was checking out the bolts on the passenger side and i don't see how i'm going to get to them. I knew it would be hard, but i cant even get to them with a socket wrench and a 12inch extension. In the lastest post on this people said a 15mm swivel socket with 18inch extension...I still dont see how i'm going to get to it, theres so much **** in the way. Now i only had the car up bout 10inch and it was dark all i had was a flashlight and the engine was hot as ***** cause it took a while to get on the ramps so maybe its just that i didn't get a great look...but it looks like the k-member is fully covering it...SHould i unbolt it? Any help please and please don't bash for repost thx.

Trust me, you can get to it. Youll need that swivel joint, other wise is a royal pain. Just bring all the cuss words known to man, and youll be fine.Theres no need to unbolt anything at all, just some careful manouvering (sp??) is needed. If you need any other advice, message me.

i told someone this on a h pipe install, i removed the passenger wheel and took the snap on bolts out of the fenderwell and pulled it back a little bit and I was able to get to it but it was still a pain...

i used two swivelsone on the socket and one on the wrench..... came in from the outboard side of the car for one bolt and from the back of the car for the other side. It can be done!!!!

like fizzics said you will get it, you really need a swivel tho. I would suggest lettin it cool down all the way and having at least a good light under there. Having some daylight would be best.
As long as you have it soaking it will come off, it just takes some elbow grease.

RE: X-pipe Install, Remove parts?
My sisters bridal shower was today so i didn't have time to spray the bolts this morn which is the reaosn i did it at night. I would never install anything during night. I guess it was just my lack of light and being able to be under the car for that long with the heat...It felt like the heat from the tranny was gonna melt my cheek :/
Anyway i'm deff putting the catback on tommorow and ill be trying for the x. Ill make a before and after slound clip and post it for ya's. Thx for the help.

Iroutinely do this sort of thing myself, however I'm not as young as I used to be and afterlooking at things,I went and asked my favorite local exhaust shop (Rick's Muffler Shop, "home of the Fat Man") how much? They said $50 and I said "let's do it"; you might want to check around...
