Ok so next weekend i am guna run my car. Well im stock except for exhaust.... But i was wondering how bad is this really for your car? Every time im this hard on it do i knock off like 10k miles engine life lol? Or do i just need to go have a good time?
Now for the fun questions.... teach me to race lol. I have an auto. I understand you launch at 2k rpms and ease into it? Then what do you shift at? Teach me!

Auto? Computer controlled? Put 'er in drive and play with the go-pedal. You're not going to gain anything by shifting a computer tranny manually.
You will want to stall it up a little, but how much will be determined by traction. Same goes for how fast you roll onto the throttle (note that I didn't say smash or jab...roll onto the throttle).

+1...my wife has an auto...all i could say is change the fluids to synthetics if you plan on driving hard all the time and make sure you don't over rev and pretty much all you'll have to worry about is gettin' new tires!lol!

Iraced a friends auto before i got my new stang and i found it worked out pretty good to hold at about 2 grand at takeoff and roll onto the gas....not too slow (first run rolled on way too slow and pulled a 15.2...)

I wouldn't worry you could smash the pedal thousands of times . But I'm sure you alredy have . I ran my 99 hard stock + few mods until it hit 150,000 on the clock then I replaced the motor for the hell of it because I replaced the tranny . I'm sure the old motor cuold've handled at least another 50,000 miles of sheer abuse . Just change you oil if you haven't done so in the last 3,000 miles . Good luck buddy
