No, I've had on 2 different kind of pullies. No difference in anything. Will rev quicker, Im sure no more than 5-6 hp. I know the older cars had problems with the alternator, but i personally know my 2002 had none.

to anwer the best mods question, there are no "best" mods someone can do to a mustang. We hafta know a bit more like, where are you heading with it and such, but if your looking for just a tad bit more fun and nothing too serious then here is my suggestion. 1) the stock stickshift from ford sucks, missed shifts and long shifts are too common... invest in a short shifter, brand wise I am uncertain due to owning an auto and only having driven a friends standard stang, but there will be plenty that will tell you which brand is great and such, you just hafta sift through and pick out which is bs and which is not heh.
2) our cars are not exactly the quickest to accelerate with, invest in a set of gears, with a standard most would recommend 3.73 gearing, it is nice and makes your car feel quicker, but if you do not wanna do something too extreme then look into a 3.55 gearing. FRPP would be the best brand to purchas for this.
3)subframe connectors, they are out of the top 3 (this is in my opinion) the most important but due to your inability to feel its usefulness in day to day driving i moved it down, our cars have a lot of flex in them, and these will help with the flex and silence the creaks and moans in the cabin a little. Most full length ones are nice, I believe that Maximum Motorsports is one of the best tho.

Also the pullies will not make your car behave weird while idling, unless you have a large stereo system and require more amps, then you would hafta upgrade your alternator. Just so you know, if you do decide to supercharge the car your gonna wanna swap the old pulley's back into the car, if not your sc will hafta run a smaller pulley in order to make the same numbers you would with a stock pulley setup and a larger sc pulley.

Go for some gears, midpipe, and shift kit. All three pretty cheap and you will be able to tell some differences.

he said hes got a stickshift, so a shift kit wouldnt do much for him.

what roush17 probably ment was a short throw shifter. itll get rid of that boat rowing feeling.

if you want something no too loud you would be looking into a catted x/h pipe and a catback. I really like my setup but I don't know what kinda sound your aiming for. With slp catted x pipe and slp lmII's it is quiet when I am cruising and loud when i get on it, plus it does not drone during highway driving=P 2500 till 3000 is sex and 1000-2000 is a whisper and the rest is a nice grumble.
