Default Changing Tail Light '99

Had a taillight out since I bought the car in '04 So yea, I've had teh annoying Super Blinker for the whole time anytime I want to turn right.

Took off the back trunk panel *inside* today while cleaning since I was feeling ambitious. Now, what else has to come off to get to the tail light so that I can change it? I am 99.9% sure it's the middle of the 3 lights, so I don't know how to gain access to it.

Has anyone changed their own taillights, how'd they do it? I know the retarded book tells you to 'See An Authorized Ford Specialist so They can Rape You.. OH THE BABY"

I have a picture of what it looks like right now.

you have to unbolt the whole housing to gain access to the bulbs. I think its 3 bolts??

Yup! you have to take out the nuts that you see there, & pull the whole light assembly out to change the bulbs. You think thats bad??. On my `87 Vette, you have to remove the license plate, & take out the backup light assembly, then reach in blindly to remove the bulbs. I guess GM figured that the bulbs would last forever

so let me get this right..

i take out those 3 bolts from behind, and the assembly goes out the rear *as in the whole light assembly* and then i can just take out the bulbs??

thats not too bad if im not mistaken on what i have to do

Come on n000b! Just unscrew the bolts that are clearly visible, the ones with the long studs...don't you have a Haynes manual or something?

I would never expect a question like this from you Cliftness....[:-]

Perhaps you would prefer the 234th thread about lowering my car? Or maybe a question about gas mileage

I'm switching things up, keeping it interesting, while at the same time insuring that I don't break anything.

I have changed my tail lights twice, and took them apart again to fix the blinker issue.
Dirtystang is almost right, it is four bolts. Then the whole housing comes out then you can gain access to the bulbs.
