I run 275's all the way around, with no rubbing. If my car was lowered it may rub.

Awesome, thanks guys. I don't plan on lowering my car since the roads in my area suck. But I do need new tires and was wanting to put 275's all around. That way I can rotate them properly.

I ran the stock goodyears on my 17x9's for about 6 months before the tire separated from the rim and demolished one of the rims. Bottom line...if your spending the money for new rims PROTECT them with wider tires.

this guy in my local car club totalled his car cause he switched from 17x8 17x9 bullits to 17x9 and 17x10.5 bullits and he just swapped the tires, tire seperated during one of our cruises and his car is now being parted out.

Also since it was warm the tire was under more stress than normal, and this is with some good tires too, michellin pilot sport 2's.

it's not safe to run those tires on those rims for long, look for 265 or wider
how long? money is TIGHT RIGHT NOW
it will be just fine
275/40/17 will fit flush with the wheel

Now im nervous after reading this thread. I have 17x8 stock rims with 245/45/17all around but imchanging em to 17x9 front and 17x10.5 rear. I bought 315/35/17 for the rears but was gona go with 245/45/17 I already have in the front but now I dont know what to do. Money is all gone now, if I wouldve known it was dangerous to run those tires on a x9 rim I woulda bought tires instead of some other stuff []
