This happens only when I get on it for a long stretch or if I'm driving a stretch on the highway for about 30 minutes or so. I start to smell this odor occasionally. (no I'm not farting) I think it's coming from the motor because I smell it coming out of the vents. Has anyone ever encountered this? Is it some normal Mustang funk that I don't know about???

Does it almost smell like propane? If so ya I have had that smell.

when my car had an exhaust leak the heat in the car smelled like burning every once and a while

my ford focus used to do that. it was the valve cover was leaking onto the exhauast manifold and after a while the manifolds would get hot and burn the oil.

If it's not a burnt oil smell...but more likethe smell of rotten egs like said above then it could be the cats... or something crawled up in somwhere and DIED! Fried squirel anyone??

my gf asks me that all the time but I am usually walking away becuase I know it is going to stink LOL...

Right now when I start my car it smells really good... my eyes start to water and all... (you gotta love 110)

I just fixed a similar problem in my car.When i refilled the trans, I filled it throught the shifter area. I left some fluid pooled up in that hole the shifter shaft sits in. After being pissed for like 2 months i finally just took a rag and wiped it out. Problem solved. Does it smell like rotten fish? HAHA good luck!
