Default MGW question

I recently installed the MGW shifter and i was wonderning if the shifts are supposed to be choppy? is this normal? its hard to get it into gear sometimes but i did hear somewhere that there is a "break-in" period. maybe the shifts will get smoother?

all in all im not that impressed, thus far, with this "short throw" shifter. ive driven a WRX with a short throw and man, that was truely short, but this one isnt nearly the same as that. i had my father this the stang for a spin and he didnt even notice that i put in the MGW.

is this just me? whats the deal?

Yeah same here. It was wayyyyy different! Especially 1st, 3rd, and 5th. They only went up like an inch.

Did you set the stops correctly? There is a certain "break-in" period, so you should give it a week or two, and you will feel the difference. I love my MGW! Best mod I did.

I'll look. But what about this choppyness? I thought is was supposed to be a smooth shift. the other shifter i had was smooth, tho i did miss third a lot. Maybe i just need to get used to this new one.

Oh and i havent drivin the mustang since the begining of december, i usually forget how it feels since i never get to drive it. the first thing i did was install the shifter, so i cant really comepare it to the other one right now. And im going back to school for another 3 months so the break-in period is going to have to wait i guess.

I have been trying to tell people MGW sucks since the day I installed mine. It will not "break-in" and will always shift like sh*t. You should have bought the Steeda Tri-Ax. Try shifting an 99+ Camaro SS six-speed transmission with stock Hurst shifter and you willrealize how bad the MGW is.

One person says they are bad. I have never heard a bad thing about them. Getting one soon hopefully.

Wow! That's the first negative comment I've heard about MGW. Everybody else else makes them put to be the shifter God would use if he drove a Mustang.
