That's a ton of money just for the gears.I saw a complete install kit with Ford gears,all new[/align]bearings,and Royal Purple for around $250.00 Then try to find an installer who will do it on the[/align]side.That's how I did mine.The whole job(including parts) was $400.00 for 3:73's. And they are NOT noisy at all.Check around.You're getting hosed ![/align]

1100 is a ton of money. I got my FRPP 4.10, oil, and newest SCT with programable custom tunes for $540 shipped - they gave me 5% off for mentioning this forum from American Muscle. I got a price of $480 for installation but going to have my brother install them for $100 bucks so my total with tuner is $640 installed. I have heard 200-500 for install. You need to ensure the job is done right but $1100 is too much.

The cost of a gear install goes something like this, depending on your selected options:
LOW HIGH
install: $250 $350
gears: $170 $240
bearing kit: $75 $90
HH Tuner: n/a $400
speed calbr.: $80 n/a
3 qts oil: $27 $27
TOTAL: $602 $1,107

The parts and labor are not all that bad. Especially when it includes the bearing kit and its all Ford parts.
That comes to around 850-900.00 and I know it will get done right. Its the tuner that added the extra cost which I wasn't expecting to pay. If anyone knows of a cheaper place in CT, feel free to chime in. I know I can buy everything cheaper if I shop around, but finding someone reputable to install them and get it right the first time is a little more difficult.

thats pretty darn high... I paid 200 for my install with free oil. I bought the gear (200) and new bearings and races (yes you need them) (80)... it came out around 500. I also bought a diablo for 200

I got the diablo tuner for 300 and 4.10 gears for 140. off ebay. Installer will charge 300.00 and 90.00 for bearings installation kit. Total will cost around 830-840 ish. So I guess I'm kind of getting an in between rate.
