Default transmission

So my extension housing on my transmission broke when I was driving home from Chicago and I have always been told that my transmission is the T-45. I have a 97 GT coupe 5 speed. Is there a way for me to tell for sure that is the tranny I got?

It's a T45, they came in the 96-01.5 gt's. The T5 is in the 5.0's. Just in case you wanted know where to look to know which tranny you have its on the inside of your door.

sweet, Ill have to look. I have always been told the 97 GT 5 speed was the T-45 but I never looked into it. but now that I am having tranny problems I will have to find out.what would it say in the doorto let me know for sure?

I think they also put the T-5 in the V6 mustangs too (not just the 5.0)
