Default WTF

Two days ago in the morning, I noticed a strange sqeaking noise coming from my left front wheel area when I turned the wheel. I drove with the window down and I hear it all the time when I brake, when I go over bumps and when I steer period. I took it down to our Auto Craft shop and had a few guys look at it and no one can figure out where it is coming from. I just redid the brakes, but it is not that. Guy thought it could be the Ball joints, so we shot it up with WD-40... nothing. I think it is suspension related but cannot tell. HELP

could be the power steering, on my old 2000 v6 the power steering pump started making sounds after about 5 years.

My Mustang usually gets squeeky the day after I wash the car. Goes away after a minute of driving though, so I don't know if it's related. Have you washed the car recently?

that squeek would most likely be from your brake rotors, and its the water that is on them after you wash your car, it goes away when the heat generated by stopping evaporates it off

Wish it was that simple, yes I washed the car, but it has been doing it for 2 days continuously now.

There is a TSB (TSB 05-14-3) that addresses "Squeak/Creak Noise from Steering Rack when Turning", caused by the steering gear tube brackets being too long and when the rubber bushings loose a bit of their resiliency this allows the rack to move around and squeak/creak. My '03 GT did this when I bought it, and with my being impatient and basically cheap I fixed it myself--here's my write-up...

i had the same problem you did, turns out it was the ball joints. i did spray with wd40 but that did nothing, so i just needed to replace them. it sounded like a bad shock when you hit bumps in the road, and it makes an awful creaking noise when you turn the wheels.

Good call, that is what we think it is as well, that or the tie-rod end. I know where to get ball joints.... how about the tie -rods???
