Mobil1 full synthetic 5W-20 w/ Mobil1 Extended Performance filter FTW.

Don't know about 99s, but '04s want 5W-20 from the factory not 5W-30....... Just my .03c (inflation)

I have a 2000 and it says 5w-20. I use the Mobil 1 full synthetic with either the Motorcraft, Mobil 1, or Pure One filters. Just don't use Frame. They are so good at filtration that they don't flow enough for performance cars. I am going to try Royal Purple the next time I do an oil change which will be when I get the heads back on my car.

My 2003 GT calls for 5W-20 Synthetic Blend for USA or 5W-20 Super Premium for Canada according to the owners manual
on page 200.

I use Mobil Full Syntehtic 5W-20 and either a Mobil One filter or a Fram X2 which is the only Fram I will use.
I know a lot of people don't like Fram, but my last 3 cars have gone over 300,000 miles using mostly Fram filters and
Castrol GTX dino oil so I can't complain. Only the high end Frams, not the bottom model.
Wix are also good.
My 92 Caprice is pusing 450,000 miles on original engine and tranny and doesn't burn a drop of oil between changes.
Changing at 3000-5000 miles or so of mostly highway driving it really doesn't matter much anyway.

One trick I have found with the Mustang is to put a small piece of cardboard bent like a trough under the filter
and pointing toward the drain pan so that the oil doesn't spill all over the steering rack when you unscrew the filter.

One of those FedEX or DHL overnight mail cardboard envelopes works perfect for this.
I tried using a plastic bag but I made an even bigger mess

Happy oil changing!
