ok so here is the deal:

I bought the car out of Georgia (i live in North Carolina) so i went to go get it inspected and the guy comes back into the shop and says it wont pass inspection and you know i asked him why and what not. well apparently who ever had it before me cut the cats off and straight welded the bassani x-pipe on there and the guys at the shop were telling me that it was a very professional job and what not but in north carolina you have to get your car inspected, in Georgia you don't. if you dont have your car inspected you pay a yearly fine and blah blah blah. the technicians were surprised that the check engine light was not on and i knew then that not only had he straight welded it he also had it tuned. so now i am looking at $200.00 cats and i need some advice from you folks.

1. will i have to have the car re-tuned after i get cats to put on it
2. and will these cats work and are they a could price and do you all have any place where i could get them cheaper.

i dont see why it would need to re tuned, but did he take the tune off of it? how did you know it got tuned..

because if it had not been tuned the check engine light would be on

thats right...hmmm...i still dont think it will need to be retuned did he not put the 02 sensors back in?

i think those SLP cats are designed to work with the SLP midpipes. might be easier/cheaper going and getting some universal hi flow cats at a muffler shop welded in.

dont get slp cats, they hang way to freaking low, stock suspension i scraped one of them on a speed bump and it pushed it back off the pipe, and i was going as slow as possible, get cats that are flat not round

i go to elonand have had most of my mustang experience with haywood customs. Randy there is a great mustang tuner but he's moved to benson (found that one out the hard way)...not real familiar with greensboro yet, but am gonna start asking around once this area picks up with cruises and hang outs
