LOL.Should of bought a Chevy...

I BLEW UP AT 1000 FT AND COASTED TO A BETTER E.T. THAN MY FRIENDS Z28 HAD ALL DAY.
But it still blew up. Atleast your freind could drive all day

THAT IS TRUE. HOWEVER, I'D RATHER HAVE A BLOWN UP HOT ROD IN THE DRIVEWAY WHICH WILL RUN AGAIN THAN A HOT ROD WANNABE WHICH CAN SQUEAL ITS TIRES IN THE GROCERY STORE PARKING LOT.
Did anyone else not get this?

should of bought a better tune....7k is way tooo high to rev
well.. with forged internals.. the motor will rev that high.. im told that my forged internals with a good valvetrain is good to rev to 8000 rpms... my rev limiter will be set though alittle higher than 7... cobras run to 7, even the ones without the forged internals do run that high...

Yeah, i dont know why everyone is bitching that you reved to high.HE HAS FULLY FORGED INTERNALS,which means the thing is very capable of 7k.It sounds like you may be right about the head gasket blowing from a result of the broken rocker.Keep us updated.

Your motor is built for loving those high rpm's except the valve springs! What kind do you have an what cams do you have. If you don't have a very high rate valve spring on those rockers then you will get float. Stock springs will start to float above 6k rpm's You may have lost a rocker and bent a valve! That would mean you need a new piston and a rebuild on the head if it's salvageable! Loss of oil would definately prove this theory since it would almost act as blowby, but not from a worn valve guide nor worn seals but a completely open valve guide from no valve in there!..lol That is def. going to be lots of work! You can do all this without removing the motor, but it's a pain. Let me know what you find

First and foremost my car does not have a rev limiter so I don't blow it up. Banging a motor off the rev limiter is worse than revving it a little past where the limiter would be set. My stock motored car @ 10psi has seen 7k twice and both were accidents. Yet it still lives. That being said I am sure it has something to do with the tune. Probably had a problem before you bought it and it finally just let go the first time you took it to 7k.
