Default Engine Swap ?

My buddy just bought a 96' GT and his brother has two 351 motors. He asked me if the 351 can fit into the 96 GT? Anyone have any thoughts on this? Thank you in advance.

Of course you can make anything fit anywhere for a price. How much is he willing to spend? Are those engines Cleveland or Windsors?

^^^ what he said u wont pass emissions, so if that dont matter to u than the 351w will fit in u will need new motor mounts and possibly a new k member and i would suggest a new tranny but i htink that all u need for it to work is a bellhousing, oh and custom headers. other than that it shouldnt be too bad

351W will fit relatively easily. A 460 will fit easily. Provided you take care of the engine mounts, tranny, and exhaust. The 4.6L is physically wider than these engines...

i love emissions with my car. it would easily fail if they put it on rollers and did all the old tests. now they just plug a computer into it, see if it's throwing a code, then all done.

Nice thanks guys. I have my car registered in Iowa and we don't have yearly inspections so the only way they would know is if they got under my car. haha
