Are SCT Xcal2 smog legal?
Alight, I went to get my car smogged yesterday (01 cobra), I ended up failing the smog because either my battery was disconnected or someone messed with the computer. And I did, I returned my car back to stock about 30 minutes before going to smog shop.
What I want to know is, if I left the tuner programmed would it have passed smog, or did I do the right thing and return the car back to stock?
Oh yeah, I have to wait 2 days and 100 miles before returning my car to the smog.

Tuner won't have affect on it if tuned properly and as long as your not throwing a code ie CEL the OBII system is a 1 sec plug in diagnostic to pass.....again as long as your not throwing a code you should be or should have been fine...was your light on?

The smogger just said that I need to come back in two days, because the smog computer failed my car because someone either disconnected the battery or tampered with my computer.

Yeah with OBDII smog systems the car has to go through a complete "drive cycle"
If you were to hook up a scanner that gives you more than just a code, you'll see there are 13-16 sensors that the system checks. When you go to smog, the first thing they do is to make sure your car has done a complete drive cycle. This makes sure there are not problems with the sensors and and also keeps peeps from just resetting their computer to get rid of light. Thier computer (and the scanners will too) tells them/you what sensors are still needing to finish their cycle.
