Well there are two slightly different designs made by Steeda. The original allowed you to adjust the sensor location to alter the timing. Now you might not have to pull the crank bolt to set that one up, I'm not totally sure. But the newer version, you DO have to pull that crank bolt because instead of moving the sensor to adjust the timing, you rotate this plate they give you which the sensor reads from. The older version for some reason had room conflicts on 01 and newer mustangs I think, which is why they redesigned it to rid the clearance problems. But yea, I think spec torque for that bolt is 65 ft/lbs and they say once you undo it and sandwitch the adjuster setup inbetween the bolt head and pully, they say to torque it to something like 80 ft/lbs, which seems excessive. Also, if you already have underdrives and have the original crank pully piggy backed onto your underdrive crank pully for the dampener effect, none of the steeda timing adjusters will fit, can't set it up with the piggy back crank pullys. Steeda's underdrive crank pully serves as a dampener as well to do away with that piggy backing business...

gears will give you a few tenths in the 1/4 but no actual hp.... but if you did a full exhaust-im talking long tubes and a good mid-pipe and say MAGNAPACKS that will give you around 20-30hp and boost you torque up. i would say for your first mod-do the gears and a short shifter, then exhaust, then PI head swap!!!!!!

Ok I just bought my 1998 GT only to learn maybe I should have got a 99 or newer with the better heads. So on to what I am asking for:
Ok maybe too much has been written about this already (maybe that’s why I am confused). The parts suppliers/makers claims appear to be bogus or under certain non real world conditions that are not up front. I have read many reviews about getting more performance from the 4.6 that basically say don’t bother unless you change heads use non hypereutectic pistons and add a blower.
So I am looking to you guys to find the “REAL” scoop to find the best bang for the buck (<$500) to add some ponies under the hood and maybe even gain some MPG I don’t care if its louder as the stock exhaust is relatively quiet for me.

its a Diablo Predator Tuner-its a little gadget that you hook up to your car computer to change some of the stock settings to more performance driven settings
