i think its the same block as the 96-98 cobras, it is a 4v but i think it has a different intake manifold than the cobras. thats about all i know.

Yes it is. Only thing different that I know of is the intake manifold. I've thought about this swap but just haven't seen a lot of documentation on it.

so if i can pick up the whole car for a couple hundred $s then it is worth it to at least get the block soi can build a new motor without having my car down(since my curent engine has 198000miles on it)

anything else worth swapping over, how are the heads etc.

You can't put 2V heads on that block(well you can but it's a lot of work).

Seeing how your engine has old ***** I would deem it worthwhile to pull the whole 4V motor and throw it in your car.

these aren't the same 4v heads as the ones on the 99+ cobras though right, and i could put the intake from the 99+ cobras on it to have the correct mustang intake configuration, right

No...the heads are the "same" as the 96-98 Cobras. Don't know about the intake. Did a search on Corral and found the difference between 96-98 Cobra and Mark VIII motors.
Mark
cast crank 6 bolt
smaller cams
low rpm intake
low rpm valve springs...I think

Cobra
better cams
better intake
forged crank

so i could just do a cam swap and intake swap on the mark engine amd have a "cheap" 4v swap, what about the tranny bolting up

well, cams aren't cheap for a 4v, aftermarket cams can cost about $1,200. the tranny should bolt up, if you have an auto the 6 bolt crank should fit up i'd imagine, if you have an manual which i think is 8 bolt, you'll just need to get a 8 bolt for the crank or however it works. rebuilding the engine might be more of a pain that just finding one with low miles to just drop in the car.
