Well, we went to load up the Bucket in the trailer tonight after finishing up last minute checks. Now, the BAD news. I had a mysterious, AWFUL sound. I finally concluded it is my DAMN CLUTCH. The throw out bearing is definitely toast as well as who knows what else.

So, I called a bud who owns a shop and after minutes of begging, he told me he would have it fixed by tomorrow afternoon. I told him I didn't care if he put a stocker in there just to get me through the race in Houston.

I then called another bud and told him the bad news. Matt says, "Hey man, I got a Spec Stage 3 clutch, pressure plate, throwout bearing and Spec aluminum flywheel sitting in a sealed box, brand new that he would donate to the Bucket's cause. I was so happy, I must have told him that I LOVED him a million times...LOL

So, it looks as though the Bucket is still on track to compete in Pinks.

wow, that sucks. no sound prior to this? cuz usually the throw out bearing goes out slowly. at least you got a stage 3 clutch out of it.

Yep, it's been whining for awhile now. I guess all those 6500rpm launches have taken their toll. It went from a whining noise to the sound of trying to grind small pieces of metal through a meat grinder.

I was so upset. To top it off, we were loading the car in front of my house and the neighbor across the street came over bitching about my car woke him up with it idling. I just got quiet rather than twisting off on him. He is such a douche bag.
