Default Tech question please!

can i take my thermostat out, hook hose back up to flush block? that way water continues to run through?

as long as i keep hose in resevoir and plug out will this work or mess things up?

i am trying to get all the antifreeze out without jacking up to get to the plugs on the bottom

Yes you can if you want. Be careful with the stat housing. They break easy. Also, never mess with the freeze plugs unless you really need to. Or,that could turn into a very expensive coolant change.

What kind of coolant are you going to use?

Yeah, I would replace the stat if your takin the old one out anyway. I dont know about the 99`s, but my 04 takes a special kind of coolant. If yours doesn`t require that, you should get the pre mixed coolant. Alot easier.

I have not done mine yet. Really, you can wait a whileto do yours. 100K miles according to the manual. It does require the "premium gold coolant."
