doesnt a EGR,recirculate unburnt exhaust gas back into the intake to be burnt once more. thous heating up the incoming air. Also, i always thought cooler air makes more HP then hot air.. maybe im wrong.

the point of an egr, i believe is
#1. Emissions laws (blow me)
#2. To help the engine warm upon startup.

Basically the egr is totally pointless and there is no reason you should keep it. Just cut that damn tube down as far as you can, crimp the end, and put a little weld over it. Green tube? like a vaccuum line? if it is a vaccuum line, it is probably to open and close the solenoid and can be removed and plugged. Don't hold me to that though cuz my stang is at my shop so i cant just go look for myself.

I always wondered if they offered an EGR delete for our cars. Would you get better or worse gas mileage and better or worse performance? Also wouldn't the CEL come on?

well, there wouldnt be much difference as far as performance and gas milage. If anything though, performance would improve maybe 1/4 hp lol. yeah, the engine lightMAY come on reading either lean or rich but I don't think so. I don't believe the comp monitors the EGR system because engineers know the whole thing is stupid so no one cares if it doesnt work. Removing the EGR may increase cold start idle roughness a little though...

So over all it's not worth it. I live in the North and I don't feel like having my car take longer to heat up lol.

It wont effect your peformance at all it automatically shuts of at WOT.
Plan to fail your emisions test if you delete it. You lose about 4 pounds if you delete it. No peformance gain what so ever.

Although, it will leave residue in ur intake so that may be a reason to remove it.
