weird sound coming from the clutch...

Long story short, i was shifting pretty hard yesterday racing this dude, and after we were done i could hear like every detail of the clutch going in, like it made an uncomfortable sound, how would i begin to tell if my clutch or tranny was going?

Hmm mine did that. Like you can hear the clutch linkages and it moving. Then it had a high pitched squeel for a couple days then bamb... gone. All you hear is a sound like metal in a blender. If it starts squeeling, grinding, slipping, or making a metal noise then you know.

My transmission is making a grinding noise when i first start my car up even when the clutch is pressed in. Then after a few minutes it goes away... I think my transmission is going to die soon. [:@] I am hard on my car and when i powershift from 2nd to 3rd. Theres like a cluck and grind when i shift it. It goes in, but the synchros are hurting.

Sounds like the throw out bearing might going. If oyu wait too long it will chew up the input shaft on the trans and you need to replace that as well. Might as well upgrade the disc and pressure plate now.

Very true. The guy who did my clutch told me that I could have done some serious damage driving on a bad clutch like I did. Thank God nothign had to be replace besides what came with the clutch kit.

Oh yeah my throw out bearing took almost an hour to get out it was so f*cked up.

That was the pilot bearing (or bushing) it goes into the end of the crank and are a real pain in the ass most times. The throw out bearing is what the clutch fork pushes against the fingers on the pressure plate, they pop right off.
