Default warranty question on 3650 transmission?????

i just bought a 03gt with 44,000 miles. i also purchased a bumper to bumper extended warranty from my dealer(not ford). since i have been driving the car in cooler weather i have noticed that the synchros are starting to feel they have to be replaced. shifting into 2nd is abit raspy. im wandering if the condition worsens? it shifts pretty goood after warm up. my question is can i still take my car to the dealer and get them replaced with my extended warranty? it seems to cover about everything.

Well its fairly normal for the 3650's to feel lame like that when cold shifting, but once they warm up if it shifts okay then your good. My 03 GT does the same **** and once it gets warmed up, I've never had a problem shifting whatsoever.

Yeah warranty will cover it. There is a TSB on the 3650 transmission as well.

i understand that. and it seems to be fine when it warms up. but if i can get it fixed for free, wouldnt it be worth. very annoying trying to shift in the cold. the recall i read states they should replace them even if the problem only takes place when the engine is cold. i dont know why more guys with same problem that bought there cars new havent fixed it. its a free fix. same thing with my harley, bad injectors from the manufactures. i swear, next time ill know to check what recalls are ona vehicle before i hurry and buy it. its annoying as hell. why cant they just make em right for $25,000 a pop. something so little can just irritate the hell out of people.

i had to get all of the synchros in my 04 replaced b/c 3rd gear started grinding....at first it was only if i was driving hard, then it started all the time....they also replaced the gears ect.....the bill came out to a little over $3k. i had purchased an extended warranty thru the dealer (not ford, so it was a 3rd party) and it only cost me $100. i did also point out to them that there is a tsb on it.(so the chances of them not approving it were slim)
