Default 2nd gear probelem.

The pull in 2nd gear is jerky. Instead of a continous felling of being pushed back in your seat , its like my power band is on off on off on off , but this is only for second gear. I cant tell if what iam feeling is power being added on and off or power being lossed on and off. ON the dyno of every car ive seen the line on the graph is deffintly squigly but why only feel this in 2nd gear??

only in 2nd? it sound like a head gasket...but not only if it is in 2nd. u would not feel a jerky motion because of a few hp like the dyno graph shows...best way to check if its the egnine vs tranny is

to check engine-
3rd gear, and about 1500rpm MAX......floor it...(of corse 1500 is low and boggy) but this loads the engine, if it is jerky while flooring it with the engine loaded like this, its probably a BHG or something else woth the engine. if you do this and its consistant all the way up to redline..its not ur engine.

to check clutch- 1st gear- find out your TOP SPEED in 1st gear-i have 3.27 gears and mine is around 30 somthing. then its time to test. once you know your 1ST GEAR TOP SPEED and the RPM YOU AT (6000 it shuld be) then go about 1500rpm in 1st and floor it. if it jumps to redline (or higher, or close like 5000rpm) and your not at max MPH, your clutch is slipping...

tranny- well...try the other 2 and if everything is ok, it could be the gear..maybe u broke some teeth off the gear and the tranny is slipping

if you bent a shift fork like i did (i had a problem like this) then the gear could be sliding in and out, or off center and back again, i still drove mine tried to baby it till a little blue lightening came along...shedded the gear sure but the $100 for winning wasnt so bad. go to a tranny shop get a diagnostic done to me sounds like a shift fork, but im no trans tech. hell i hate the damn things.
