last summer my 96 gt auto ran great...i pulled it out and started it up afterit satthru the winter, and i noticed when i put it in gear with a warm engine...it stalls, or the rpms drop to like 250-350, then slowly come up to about 450. A warm idle in park is around 600-650 on the factory tach.I haveNO check engine light and it seems to run great other then stalling out when it goes into gear.

First clean your IAC and see it that corrects the problem. Thats what it sounds like the problem is.

i tried that...i sprayed it out with brake cleaner...but nothing really came out of it except clean looking brake cleaner and it still does the same thing...should i replace it since it has 175K miles? Would the throttle position sensor have anything to do with it?

TPS could be another problem as well. With 175K, it wouldn`t hurt to change both. But also check your spark plugs and wires.

i just changed the plugs with the ngk iridium...and did the fuel filter...but the wires are old. But if the engine does notmiss, how could they afftect the idle...unless they don't give the plugs enough power for a good spark?

You did take off the IAC ant clean it. Right?

Yes...i sprayed it out with brake cleaner...but im wondering if i should have used something like carb cleaner, because it didnt change how it ran.
