Default steering wheel shaking

Ok so this may sound like a stupid question, but is there any reason why when I begin to slow down from anywhere over about 70, no matter whether its a hard brake or just lightly, my steering wheel shakes like crazy. Now once again im sure its a stupid question but I was just wondering. Thanks for any reponses..

Yep, sounds like a warped rotor, the only fix for that is to replace them - It is an easy enough job, check out the maintenance sticky on the front page of the forum, it has a link to a website that will walk you through it.

On Second thoughts, you have to replace rotors as a pair so do them both (the front pair). I would also replace the pads as they were likely damaged by the out of round rotor.

I would take it somewhere other than Pep Boys. I went there for a part for my Corvette, & the kid behind the counter said " Corvette-- thats a Chevy ain`t it??". I said "never mind" & left

Did you just beef up your tire size? I just put 295s and 275s on and when i am slowing i notice this as well... so that could be it.
