I have sprayed both single and BC/CC and I prefer BC/CC because there is more room for errors because you can wet sand your imperfections out. You probably won't find many people in this section with a Single stage paint job because most of the cars in this section are all newer and I have seen very few custom paint jobs in this section.

That would be the worst mistake of your life, it doesnt look good, very matted and dull. I am a friend of a guy that owns a Maaco shop and I have seen both single and their best 3 stage (Primer, 3-4 coats of color, 3-4 coats of clear and color sanding is a cheap $350 dollar option.)
You wont spend much more than $1800 for a beautiful slightly better than factory finish with a 5yr warent. Dont go for that $300 money saver, you will hate yourself and kill whatever resell value you had because it sticks out like a sore thumb.
Also Earl Scheib sprays color and clean in the same area that they sand and do body work.
All Maaco's have a clean room and a baking room.

well my car is getting a new paint job, the shop told me black single stage with the clearcoat already mixed in looks very clean and shiny, they showed me a sample they just went ahead and painted a fender they had their , to me it seemed the same as any other paint job. But before i did it i was just wondering if one is better than the other or wich one looks better?

I am an automotive painter! I have been doing it for about 5 years now! SS paint is a good, cheap way to paint your car! You get a nice finish, but you also sacrifice UV protection. SS will dull out faster and after a couple years will start to fade. BC/CC is the best way to go! You may spend more money, but you also get the chance to make it look perfect cuz you have more b/c and c/c to sand on and buff out imperfections. BC/CC won't fade out as fast as SS cuz you have extra UV protection that CC is designed to give you!
